I was thinking the site we started was getting a little old. It was becoming more work to update things whenever Wix would make sweeping updates because our site was older and wasn't a template, but more of a mish-mash of apps and things held together by gum and prayers.
Pam and I finally decided it was time for a new look on Saturday morning after seeing some template choices that I had been tinkering around with. We decided on something we both liked, and I spent all day Saturday creating the basics, moving over the blog, then the forum, then all the backbone settings and moving over all the contacts and site members until finally, here we are!
Some of the things that are new is that everyone who visited and added themselves as a contact on the old site are now site members on this new site. That means you should be able to sign in and leave forum questions and comments. You have to be a member to leave comments as well in the blog. It's a crummy choice, but had to be done in order to cut down on the spam comments by bots and such. Being a member takes seconds and doesn't cost anything. Pam and I are not charging for any of this, and never will.
I'm still working on some things, like the comments. Because we used an app on the old site for comment entry, there is no way of importing them into this new template. I'm still checking, but it looks like all the old stories and comments won't be showing up again. I'm truly sorry about that.
