Hi everyone. I'm sure you noticed that this site was down for quite some time. The reason turns out to be quite simple. Pam missed the domain name renewal email. We had this domain registered with HostGator since inception quite a number of years ago. Well, since we missed the renewal window, the domain name went into HostGator limbo, and turns out the regular renewal fee wouldn't be enough. We would need to pay an extra $75.00 on top of all the other fees. Now, just on principal alone I couldn't agree to this. So Pam and I agreed to let the domain die in HostGator's clutches and when it was finally released from HostGator's domain purgatory, we would simply buy the domain using some other service. It took a long damned time, but here we are finally!
You might have also noticed both Pam and I have not been posting (Even before the site went offline). We're both still together! We're both still very much in love with each other, and we're both still dedicated to this site and all of you. But truth be told, we had a bit of drama at our jobs. Pam and I both work at the same place, and after 26 years for me, and 27 years for Pam, we had enough of the BS our company was force feeding us and found new jobs. What happened is our department director was fired (everyone liked him except the vice president) and the VP replaced him with an inexperienced, defensive, completely out of her league person in the position of IT Director. So, out of the blue really, this person who was never in the IT field, is now the boss of several seasoned IT veterans. There were 6 other people who had vastly more experience than her, but now we had to be servants to the tyrannical chaos management style of this newbie. Not gonna happen. Pam and I both started the job search and Pam was the first to depart to new environs. I followed a month or two after her.
So we've both been busy dealing with the newness of our current jobs (Of which, we both love!) so we haven't had time to write anything here. It's settling down now, and we both have many ideas for posts we'd like to write about. Hopefully I'll be able to write without the giant stick up my ass that made me write in my stilted, robotic way. It's a learning process I guess.
So be on the lookout for new posts soon. It's so good to be back!
